Job summary

Evolution Healthcare in Wellington is seeking a technically strong Accountant to join the Accounting & Finance team. Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you will deliver accurate financial reporting, support month-end and year-end processes, and help drive improvements across systems and processes.

You will own balance sheet reconciliations, prepare monthly management reports, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and audits in a busy multi-entity healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• CA-qualified or equivalent credential.
• 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting.
• Experience in multi-entity environments preferred.
• ERP systems exposure, especially Business Central advantageous.
• Advanced Excel and analytical capability.
• Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Prepare monthly management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) with variance analysis.
• Deliver three-way financial modelling and align reporting.
• Manage month-end processes: journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support GST and PAYE processes and statutory compliance.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and the business.
• Contribute to system improvements and process efficiencies.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, this is a broad and hands-on role supporting multiple business units across a multi-entity healthcare environment. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and contributing to continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances
• Preparation of monthly management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) with meaningful variance analysis
• Delivery of three-way financial modelling and reporting alignment
• Managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting GST and PAYE processes and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
• Working closely with stakeholders across finance and the wider business
• Contributing to system improvements and process efficiencies

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You are a technically strong and commercially aware Accountant who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key skills and experience:

• CA qualified (or equivalent)
• 3+ years' experience in financial accounting
• Strong understanding of month-end, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience in multi-entity or complex environments (preferred)
• Exposure to ERP systems (Business Central advantageous)
• Advanced Excel and analytical capability
• Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
• High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability
