Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Invercargill is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Southland Finance Team. You will provide accurate financial insights to enable informed decision making across divisions.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will lead month and year end processes, maintain the asset register, deliver timely reports, and support stakeholders with financial guidance. The role requires a tertiary qualification, CA/CPA preferred, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent/relevant knowledge.
• CA or CPA qualified preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (accounting standards, legislation, and practices).
• Working knowledge of broad business, commercial practices, and contractual law.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to review and critique financial information.
• Experience in providing finance advice across an organisation.
• Advanced level Word, Excel, and computing skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while handling multiple tasks with changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide detailed and accurate financial information to various divisions and departments.
• Provide financial reports and insights within Fulton Hogan Accounting and Reporting timeframes.
• Actively be involved in all relevant financial processes (month and year end review and reporting, annual budget reviews).
• Maintain asset register including audits and asset capitalisation and accurately.
• Support and proactively deliver training to stakeholders.
• Ensure Fulton Hogan's financial process and procedures are adhered to.
• Signing off on expenses and approvals.
• IT support for the region including managing all IT asset.
