Job summary

Moët Hennessy NZ, part of the LVMH group, seeks an Account Manager for South Island (Christchurch) to drive MHNZ's sales objectives across On, Off and eRetail channels. You will manage key accounts, grow market share and build relationships with customers while representing our luxury brands with professionalism.

The role requires a minimum 3 years in luxury goods sales, English fluency, and strong skills in planning, negotiating and presenting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent.
  • Full English written and spoken proficiency.
  • At least 3 years of commercial or sales experience in luxury goods or premium international wine and spirits.
  • Deep understanding of On-Trade, Off-Trade, and eRetail channels.
  • Strong planning, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Grow market share by achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Grow market share via distribution targets across all channels.
  • Provide tailored advice for customers and ensure 100% distribution compliance.
  • Monitor competitor activity and report insights in territory reports.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings to share best practices and trends.
  • Accompany senior managers on market visits as required.

Overview of the Position

As an Account Manager for South Island, your role is to achieve MHNZ’s business objectives & agreed sales budget for your specific territory whilst understanding and embracing the strategic imperatives of MHANZ in your day-to-day business.

The core focus in respect of this position is to continue to grow market share in the On, Off and eRetail channels across the entire brand portfolio. Furthermore, you are responsible for enhancing MHANZ’s culture and contributing to the overall success of your direct team and that of the entire business.

How you will contribute…

Category Leadership

  • To grow market share by achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • To grow market share by achieving distribution targets across all channels
  • Highlight our uniqueness vs. competition through best practice storytelling and sharing of market leading business insights with your customers
  • To become an industry recognised Ambassador for all MH Brands through product knowledge and exceptional storytelling
  • Continue to adapt to new customer expectations
  • Digital transformation and integration - initiatives are to be further supported by highly visible, exceptional animation/activations

Achieve Industry Sales Force Leadership

  • Deliver commercial objectives by being our customers most valued partner
  • Provide creative and tailor-made advice for your customer
  • 100% distribution compliance with major contracts and territory growth targets to be achieved
  • Full engagement with Salesforce and QLIK in tracking and reporting of Aspire Adoption KPI’s (customer segmentation, callage, surveys, meeting notes, activations)
  • On Premise distribution surveys to be completed at the end of every sales call
  • Monitor competitor activity and promotions within territory and provide update in territory reports

Be an Ambassador through Storytelling

  • Bring to life our iconic brands through the sharing of our heritage with passion and expertise
  • Showcase the crafting of our exceptional products, highlighting the benefits and values of our portfolio
  • Embody the art of luxury in all communications, also demonstrating the elegance of our curated service rituals
  • Be an inspirational ambassador of our brands, striving for a culture of excellence to build brand desirability

Make MHANZ brands available & accessible

  • Develop and execute an activation programme across the network of accounts – to be tracked through Salesforce
  • Ensure that brand merchandising standards are achieved at all times across all channels and social / eRetail platforms
  • Achieve maximum facings and display of core brands in all outlets in line with distribution targets
  • Ensure that MHANZ brands feature prominently over competitors with superior animation

Compliance

  • Ensure that compliance and adherence to policies and procedures is a fundamental way of working Throughout the MHANZ business we will focus on and model the highest levels of compliance and integrity

Credit & Payment Collections

  • Monitor the financial status of each assigned customer and alert the Sales Manager and National Credit Manager of any concerns in order to minimize the incidence of bad debts
  • Ensure that outstanding debts are analysed and follow up with customers to increase the speed of collection of outstanding monies
  • Ensure debts are collected within the due date and keep communication lines clear with Sales Manager & Credit Manager

Others

  • Accompany Senior Managers, Marketing colleagues, brand owners and principals on market visits as required
  • Participate in regular sales meetings to review and update market trends, exchange information, share best practices, and contribute to the overall development of the company’s sales organisation

Education

  • College/University graduate major in Business or equivalent Languages
  • Full English written and spoken proficiency

Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the luxury wine and spirits sector, with specific expertise in Champagne and prestige spirits
  • At least 3 years of commercial or sales experience within the luxury goods or premium international wine and spirits industry
  • Deep understanding of high-end On-Trade, selective Off-Trade, and (eRetail) channels

Technical Skills

  • Strong planning, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong numerical, analytical and statistical skills
  • Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills
  • High standard of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
