Job description

We're looking for an experienced ACC Regional Manager to provide leadership and oversight of ACC revenue management services across the Te Waipounamu region. This is a key leadership role within our Finance function, responsible for ensuring ACC revenue processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and securely, while meeting national policies, standards, controls and agreed performance expectations. You'll provide clear regional leadership across a team of 20-25, building capability and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You'll be the primary regional point of contact for ACC performance, working closely with clinical, operational and finance stakeholders to manage performance, resolve issues and maintain strong relationships. You'll oversee service level agreements and key performance indicators, provide performance reporting and support regional coordination of the ACC contract renewal process.

A significant part of the role will be supporting the transition towards a single, nationally consistent ACC revenue service. You'll lead the standardisation and improvement of regional processes, reduce local variation, strengthen compliance and controls, and identify opportunities to simplify and automate ways of working.

Reporting to the Group Manager, Regional Finance, Central and working closely with the Group Manager, ACC & Eligibility Revenue, you'll contribute to national initiatives and strategic priorities while leading your team through change and embedding sustainable, best-practice approaches.

Applications open to current Health New Zealand employees.

We're looking for an experienced people leader who combines strong revenue or financial operations expertise with the ability to lead transformation in a complex, regulated environment. You'll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience.
  • 10+ years' relevant experience in revenue management, billing, eligibility or a related financial operations environment.
  • 5+ years' people leadership experience, with a proven track record leading teams in high-volume, complex processing environments and accountability for performance, capability, quality, compliance and delivery.
  • Proven experience driving process improvement, standardisation and transformational change within regulated or policy-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle ERP (FPIM), Patient Management and relevant clinical and financial systems.
  • The ability to analyse performance, identify risks and improvement opportunities, make sound decisions and translate insights into practical action.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across clinical, operational, finance and external stakeholders.
  • Experience driving efficiency through simplification and automation, with a focus on delivering sustainable improvements and savings.
  • A positive, proactive and collaborative leadership style, with a genuine commitment to developing people and building high-performing teams.

You’ll be comfortable leading through change and uncertainty and able to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery. You’ll bring sound judgement, personal accountability and the confidence to challenge constructively, influence change and maintain momentum across a complex environment.

Experience with ACC revenue management, ACC eligibility, billing and recovery processes, as well as financial controls, policy compliance and risk management, would be advantageous.

You’ll also demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply its principles meaningfully in your role.
