Job summary

SouthRoads, part of HW Richardson Group, is hiring a flush truck operator in Southland. You will drive a 2019 Hino 300 4x4, managing planned maintenance and call-outs to keep pipelines flowing and sites progressing.

You will coordinate with project teams, identify opportunities to add value, and support other crews as needed, keeping safety at the forefront of every task.

Qualifications

• Requires a full Class 2 licence and safe driving record.
• Ability to self-manage and take ownership of work.
• Positive, proactive attitude with willingness to learn.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to site rules.
• Experience with jetting, vac or drainage is a bonus, training provided.

Responsibilities

Some people drive a truck. We’re looking for someone wholl run one.

Meet your new office: a 2019 Hino 300 4x4 flush truck with a full jetting setup. It’s compact, capable and built to get where bigger units can’t, whether that’s tight urban streets, rural roadsides or soft, muddy access tracks. When drains, culverts and pipelines block up, this truck goes in and gets them flowing again.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll operate the flush truck across drainage, pipeline and culvert work, from planned maintenance through to call-outs where you’re the person who gets things moving again. You’ll be trusted to manage your own day: plan jobs, keep on top of servicing and pre-starts, and keep the truck running like it’s your own business.

We also want you to help grow this part of our operation. You’ll talk to our project teams, spot where the truck can add value on upcoming jobs, and help build its reputation as the go-to solution. When the truck isn’t needed, you’ll jump in on other crews, so if you like variety and picking up new skills, this role has plenty of both.

What you’ll need

• A full Class 2 licence
• The drive to self-manage and take real ownership of your work
• A can-do attitude and the flexibility to help wherever you’re needed
• A strong safety mindset. We look after our people and expect you to look after yourself and your team
• Jetting, vac or drainage experience is a bonus, but the right attitude matters most, and we’ll train you on the gear
