Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Hawkes Bay is seeking a Call Centre Operator (Casual, as and when required) to be the welcoming first point of contact. This 24/7 telephone-based role supports internal teams and the public with a range of enquiries, alarms, and emergency responses.

You will work with the Service Hub Call Centre team, coordinating with duty managers, security, emergency management, clinical areas, and external providers.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 2 or equivalent.
• Proven customer service skills in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with multiple systems and recording accurate information.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and customer enquiries.
• Monitor critical alarms and respond promptly.
• Respond to emergency requests and initiate internal or civil emergency processes.
• Coordinate emergency responses across hospital operations.
