Job summary

Babbage Consultants in Auckland is seeking an experienced 12d Civil Designer to join our growing infrastructure team. You will develop and maintain civil design models for roading, drainage and Three Waters projects.

The role involves collaborating with engineers, technicians and other specialists to produce practical, buildable designs and to contribute to our 12d capability and workflows.

Qualifications

• You’ll be confident using 12d Model and producing coordinated civil design models and documentation.
• Relevant qualification in civil engineering, engineering design or drafting, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure design across roading, transport, geometric design and/or stormwater and drainage.
• Ability to interpret survey information and engineering inputs.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to bring your 12d expertise to a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects, with a focus on roading, geometric design, stormwater drainage and Three Waters.Working alongside engineers, technicians and other specialists, you’ll turn engineering concepts and project information into coordinated, practical and buildable designs.

The Role

• Develop and maintain accurate 12d models for civil infrastructure projects
• Undertake civil design across roading, transport, stormwater and drainage
• Work on geometric design, earthworks, grading, drainage and services coordination
• Produce surfaces, alignments, long sections, cross sections, quantities and design documentation
• Work with engineers and technicians to develop practical, coordinated design solutions
• Review survey, utility and project information and identify design issues early
• Coordinate with other Babbage disciplines to deliver integrated project outcomes
• Support projects through construction and contribute to the development of our 12d capability and workflows

About You

You’ll be confident using 12d Model and experienced in producing coordinated civil design models and documentation.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A relevant qualification in civil engineering, engineering design or drafting, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong working knowledge of 12d Model
• Civil infrastructure design experience across roading, transport, geometric design and/or stormwater and drainage
• A sound understanding of civil design principles and constructability
• The ability to interpret survey information and engineering inputs
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach

You don’t need to tick every box. We’re particularly interested in people with strong 12d capability and solid civil design fundamentals who want to apply their skills across a variety of infrastructure projects.
