Land Matters is a growing multidisciplinary consultancy delivering Civil Engineering, Surveying, Planning, Project Management and Property Advisory services across a range of land development and infrastructure projects. We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Civil Designer to join our team in Ōtaki.

You'll work with Engineers, Surveyors and Project Managers to design and deliver land development projects from concept through construction, using 12d and AutoCAD, and support drone and digital

Based in Ōtaki, the team combines technical expertise with a practical, collaborative approach, helping shape communities through high-quality development and infrastructure solutions. With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, an opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate or Senior Civil Designer to join the team.

The Opportunity

Working closely with Engineers, Surveyors and Project Managers, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of land development and three waters projects from concept through to construction. You'll utilise advanced 12d and AutoCAD skills to produce high-quality designs while also supporting survey, drone and digital engineering activities across a variety of projects.

This role offers exposure to subdivisions, earthworks, roading, stormwater, wastewater and water supply infrastructure, along with modern technologies including drone surveying, machine control and digital modelling.

• Civil design and drafting using 12d and AutoCAD

About You

You’ll be an experienced Civil Designer or Civil Drafter who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering practical, high-quality design solutions. Ideally you’ll have:

• 4+ years’ civil design and drafting experience
• Strong 12d experience
• AutoCAD proficiency
• Experience across land development and subdivision projects
• Three waters design experience
• Knowledge of NZ engineering standards and council requirements
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Current valid working rights in New Zealand
• Hold a current New Zealand Drivers License
