Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a skilled Work Prep Engineer to support construction, MC, and commissioning by preparing detailed work orders in PIMS PES. You will collaborate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to ensure safety, accuracy and timely delivery in line with project schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in oil & gas, strong knowledge of P&IDs and ISO drawings, and fluent Norwegian with good English.

Qualifications

• Technical education (vocational or engineering degree) with a relevant trade certificate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry or a related industry, preferably within construction or commissioning.
• Familiarity with MC and commissioning completion processes and digital tools (e.g., PIMS CMS/PIMS PES).
• Strong understanding of drawings (P&IDs, ISO) and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Fluent in Norwegian, with a good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work orders based on engineering work packs (EWP) and maintain detailed orders in PIMS PES, including MHR estimates, drawings, procedures, and MTO.
• Interface with engineering, planning, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure prerequisites are met before execution.
• Review safety aspects of planned work and ensure HSSE compliance and project standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in work preparation and contribute to lessons learned.

The Work Prep Engineer ensures the timely and accurate preparation of work orders to support construction, mechanical completion (MC), and commissioning activities. The role is critical in enabling safe and efficient execution in line with project schedules and Company standards.

Job Description

• Work Order Preparation: Based on information provided in engineering work packs (EWP), the Work Prep Engineer shall develop and maintain detailed work orders in PIMS PES, including, but not limited to, man-hour (MHR) estimates, drawings, procedures, and material lists (MTO).
• Interface Management: Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure all prerequisites are met prior to job execution.
• Quality & HSSE Compliance: Review safety aspects of planned work, identify risks, and ensure compliance with HSSE requirements and project implementation models.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize work preparation processes and contribute to lessons learned.
