Job summary

Academic Work Norge is seeking a User Experience Engineer to support the Devices RoomOS and Core UI teams in a temporary six-month role starting in November. You will collaborate with designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to shape usable concepts and prototypes for cross-device experiences.

The role emphasizes user-centered design, accessibility, and visual polish across digital and physical devices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in UX, HCI, Interaction Design, Product Design, Cognitive Science, or equivalent.
Minimum two years of experience designing digital product experiences, preferably across enterprise, collaboration, hardware-software, or connected device products.
Experience taking defined product features from requirements through design exploration, iteration, and delivery.
Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools to create flows, interface designs, prototypes, and handoff-ready design documentation.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to improve defined product areas and create usable concepts and prototypes.
Help make complex device experiences feel simple, reliable, inclusive, and visually refined.
Create concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for defined features or product areas.
Apply user-centered design methods, research insights, and product feedback to improve usability and accessibility.
Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements, technical constraints, and user needs, and validate concepts with users or internal stakeholders.
