Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Occupational Health & Safety.
• Experience: 5-8 years in heavy industrial environments with at least 3 years underground mine operations or underground civil tunneling.
• Phase Exposure: Experience moving assets from construction to operations is valued.

Responsibilities

• Contractor Safety Management: audit EPC contractors underground to ensure safety culture.
• Excavation & Structural Oversight: support safety assessments along the decline, tunnels, and silo networks.
• Commissioning Risk Analysis: lead PHSR and risk assessments for installation and commissioning of fixed and mobile machinery.
• Underground Systems Management: design, calibrate, and monitor ventilation shafts, gas detection arrays, blast clearances, and warning systems.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure adherence to Norwegian health and safety regulations and mining practices.
• Culture & Training: develop and deliver safety training for underground and surface teams.
• Emergency Preparedness: author, test, and adapt underground emergency plans and drills.
• Incident Management: lead investigations and map corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
