Job summary

NES Fircroft in Bergen seeks an experienced safety engineer to lead detailed design and modification of safety systems for offshore projects. The role covers area classification, ignition source control, fire and gas detection, and SIL/PED considerations, with extensive collaboration across stakeholders.

The candidate should have a Master or Bachelor in technical safety and 5–10 years of offshore design experience in Norway, with strong Norwegian and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in technical safety or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of offshore design and modification experience in Norway.
• Ability to work independently on V&M projects and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO and NORSOK standards.
• Strong Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
• Handle area classification, ignition source control, fire and gas detection.
• Address SIL, PED, and safety-related documentation checks and verifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, clients, vendors and 3rd parties.
• Identify risk activities (HAZID, WEHRA) and support design reviews.
