Job summary

IKM Gruppen AS seeks an experienced Safety Engineer for offshore design and modification in Bergen. The role focuses on safety systems, PFP, AFP, and Fire & Gas detection, with responsibilities spanning area classification, ignition control, EER, and SIL.

You will coordinate with clients and vendors, conduct risk analyses, and support cost planning for safety activities. Requires 5–10 years offshore experience and dual fluency in Norwegian and English.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical safety or related discipline; relevant experience can compensate.
• 5–10 years of offshore design and modification experience in Norway.
• In-depth knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO and NORSOK standards.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Strong communication and self-learning skills.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
• Handle Passive Fire Protection (PFP), Active Fire Protection (AFP), and Fire and Gas Detection.
• Manage Area Classification, Ignition Source Control, EER, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
• Oversee Working Environment and Environmental Care Engineering.
• Conduct interdisciplinary coordination, checks, and verifications.
• Identify and facilitate risk and verification activities such as HAZID and WEHRA.
• Follow up with clients, vendors, and third parties.
• Provide concise input regarding cost and plan activities for project safety aspects.
