Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead a large, site-wide data centre construction and delivery organisation in Norway. You will oversee detailed designs, construction delivery, commissioning and hand-off to operations, while managing vendor relationships and global delivery models.

The role requires 5+ years in mission-critical project management, experience with electrical and mechanical systems, and a track record in international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in project and construction management in critical infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience in mission-critical project and construction management, specializing in hyperscale data center delivery and MEP systems integration.
• Experience with commercial contract management and procurement.
• Experience managing construction projects, within an international working environment.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience managing vendor relationships, with an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
• Ability to build excellent relationships and deliver on action-orientated tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large, site-wide data centre construction and delivery organisation, managing scopes related to construction projects or capital improvement projects.
• Be responsible for ensuring the development of detailed designs, managing construction (delivery, cost, quality and EHS), commissioning, close-out and hand-off to the operations team. Ensure all customer requirements are being met.
• Establish and maintain various delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors.
• Create a growth plan and be involved in hiring/recruiting of talent in the areas of project management, field engineering, document control, technical writing, etc.
• Research and implement construction means and methods of data centre equipment and facilities. Carry design concepts into mass production and integrate into facilities.
