Job summary

IKM Gruppen AS is seeking a geospatial data specialist in Stavanger to manage and analyze offshore geospatial data, ensuring quality and accuracy. You will maintain workflows using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and FME, while collaborating with data owners to resolve issues and define requirements.

The role emphasizes offshore operations experience, coordinate reference systems, and scripting/automation to improve repeatable processes. Full-time, fixed-term Sept 2026–Sept 2027.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in geospatial sciences, GIS, geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing, analyzing, quality-controlling, and visualizing geospatial data.
  • Experience with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Strong knowledge of coordinate reference systems and geospatial data formats.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise is required.
  • Experience with FME, automation, or scripting is a plus.
  • Industry experience offshore operations, surveying, or energy is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver trusted geospatial data, maps, and data packages for offshore operations and surveys.
  • Manage, analyze, and quality-control spatial data for completeness and positional accuracy.
  • Maintain and improve geospatial workflows using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and FME.
  • Collaborate with users and data owners to clarify requirements and resolve data issues.
  • Prepare and quality-control maps, charts, data packages, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to geospatial data models, standards, and procedures.
  • Identify recurring needs and automate workflows into repeatable processes.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and practical guidance to users.

Job description

  • Deliver trusted geospatial data, maps, and technical data packages to support offshore operations, projects, and survey activities.
  • Manage, analyze, and quality-control spatial data to ensure it is complete, correctly positioned, and fit for operational use.
  • Maintain and improve operational geospatial workflows using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME, and supporting automation tools.
  • Work closely with users, data owners, and other technical disciplines to clarify requirements and resolve data issues.
  • Prepare and quality-control maps, charts, data packages, and other geospatial deliverables.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of geospatial data models, standards, symbology, and procedures.
  • Identify recurring operational needs and help convert manual activities into documented, repeatable, and sustainable workflows.
  • Support users and colleagues through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and practical guidance.
Required expertise
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in geospatial sciences, GIS, geomatics, or a related discipline. Relevant practical experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Proven experience in managing, analyzing, quality-controlling, and visualizing geospatial data.
  • Practical experience with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems, spatial data quality, and common geospatial data formats.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise is required.
  • Experience with FME, automation, or scripting is a significant advantage.
  • Experience from offshore operations, surveying, or the energy industry is beneficial.

Location: Stavanger, with some offshore work required

Work schedule: Full-time

Duration: Fixed-term assignment from September 2026 to September 2027
