Job summary

Energy As in Stavanger is seeking a geospatial data specialist to deliver trusted geospatial data and associated deliverables for offshore operations, projects, and surveys. You will manage, analyze, and quality‑control spatial data, ensuring accuracy and operational readiness.

The role requires hands‑on experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise, with FME/automation as a plus. Offshore/energy sector experience is beneficial and English language proficiency is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geospatial sciences, GIS, geomatics, or a related discipline. Relevant practical experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Proven experience in managing, analyzing, quality-controlling, and visualizing geospatial data.
  • Practical experience with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems, spatial data quality, and common geospatial data formats.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise is required.
  • Experience with FME, automation, or scripting is a significant advantage.
  • Experience from offshore operations, surveying, or the energy industry is beneficial.

  • Manage, analyze, and quality-control spatial data to ensure it is complete, correctly positioned, and fit for operational use.
  • Maintain and improve operational geospatial workflows using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME, and supporting automation tools.
  • Work closely with users, data owners, and other technical disciplines to clarify requirements and resolve data issues.
  • Prepare and quality-control maps, charts, data packages, and other geospatial deliverables.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of geospatial data models, standards, symbology, and procedures.
  • Identify recurring operational needs and help convert manual activities into documented, repeatable, and sustainable workflows.
  • Support users and colleagues through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and practical guidance.

Required expertise

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geospatial sciences, GIS, geomatics, or a related discipline. Relevant practical experience may compensate for formal education.

Proven experience in managing, analyzing, quality-controlling, and visualizing geospatial data.

Practical experience with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.

Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems, spatial data quality, and common geospatial data formats.

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise is required.

Experience with FME, automation, or scripting is a significant advantage.

Experience from offshore operations, surveying, or the energy industry is beneficial.
