Job summary

Head Energy is seeking a Geospatial Technical Data Specialist to support offshore operations by delivering trusted geospatial data, maps and data packages. You will work with experienced colleagues to streamline workflows, improve data quality and enable better operational decisions.

In this role, you will manage, analyse and quality-control spatial data, maintain geospatial workflows, and contribute to standards and technical guidance. English and Norwegian language skills are an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geospatial sciences or related discipline.
  • Experience managing, analysing, quality-controlling and visualising geospatial data.
  • Proficiency with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro; understanding CRS and data formats.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise; FME; automation or scripting is an advantage.
  • Experience from offshore operations, surveying, engineering or energy industry is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps is useful.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Norwegian language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver trusted geospatial data, maps and technical data packages for offshore activities and projects.
  • Manage, analyse and quality-control spatial data to ensure completeness and correct positioning.
  • Maintain and improve geospatial workflows using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with users, data owners, survey specialists and other disciplines to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to geospatial data models, standards, metadata, and guidance.
  • Identify recurring needs and convert manual activities into repeatable workflows.
  • Support users through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing and documentation.
  • Explore opportunities to use AI to improve day-to-day processes.
  • Prepare and quality-control maps and data packages for offshore operations.

Job Description:
  • As a Geospatial Technical DataSpecialist,you will work with experienced colleagues to support efficient day-to-dayoffshoreoperations.You will alsocontribute to continuous improvement by applying geospatial technology, data and tools to streamline workflows, improve data quality and enable better operational decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver trusted geospatial data, maps and technical data packages that support offshore operations, projects, surveyactivitiesand regulatory reporting.
  • Manage, analyse and quality-control spatial data to ensure it is complete, correctly positioned, consistentlystructuredand fit for operational use.
  • Maintain and improve operational geospatial workflows usingArcMap,ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME and supporting automation tools.
  • Work closely with users, data owners, survey specialists and other technical disciplines to clarify requirements, resolve dataissuesand deliver practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of geospatial data models, standards, symbology, metadata,proceduresand technical guidance.
  • Identifyrecurring operational needs and help convert manual activities into documented,repeatableand sustainable workflows.
  • Support users and colleagues through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing,documentationand practical guidance.
  • Exploreopportunitiesto useAIto improve andstreamlineday-to-day processes.

    Typical tasks will include:

  • Prepare and quality-control maps, charts, data packages and other geospatial deliverables for offshore activities and projects.
  • Quality control,transform,integrateand publish data from internal systems, external providers,engineeringand survey sources.
  • Perform coordinate reference system checks, transformations and georeferencing to ensureaccuratepositioning.
  • Review spatial data, metadata,symbologyand servicesfor compliance withagreed data models and business requirements, resolving anydiscrepanciesidentified.
  • Prepare andsubmitgeospatial information to relevant authoritiesin accordance withapplicable reporting requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, templates and user guidance, and support incoming geospatial requests.
  • Evaluatenew data sources and workflowenhancements, contributingto standards and initiatives thatimprovedata quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s orMaster’sdegree in geospatial sciences, GIS, geomatics, surveying, geography, engineering, datamanagementor another relevant discipline. Relevant practical experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Relevant experience in managing, analysing, quality-controllingand visualising geospatial data.
  • Practical experience withArcMap andArcGIS Pro, together with an understanding of coordinate reference systems, spatial dataqualityand common geospatial data formats.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise.FME, automation or scripting is an advantage.
  • Experience from offshore operations, surveying,engineeringor the energy industry is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with use of Service Now and Azure Dev Ops isuseful.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Norwegian language skills are an advantage.
