Job summary

mnemonic is seeking a System Administrator to join the Application Operations department in Oslo. You will work with NDR technology at the core of mnemonic’s MDR service, helping operate and improve systems relied on by security teams and customers daily.

The team consists of 17 dedicated employees, maintaining and supporting NDR/EDR/SIEM solutions and assisting with MDR implementations for customers. Office in Oslo with remote work opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, networking or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with Suricata and Zeek.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting.
• Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer implementation projects focusing on NDR sensor technology.
• Join on-call rotation for daytime and after-hours support.
• Develop automation tools and scripts.
• Coordinate with other teams on planning changes and troubleshooting.
• Own one or more product areas within NDR/EDR/SIEM.

We are looking for a System Administrator to join our Application Operations department in Oslo. You will work with Network Detection and Response (NDR) technology at the core of mnemonic’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service, helping operate and improve the systems our security teams and customers rely on every day.

The Application Operations department currently consists of 17 dedicated employees responsible for the operation and maintenance of mnemonic’s MDR service and its supporting systems. We also assist with the implementation of our MDR solutions for customers.

mnemonic delivers MDR services to the international market and holds market share in the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Australia, in addition to a strong presence across the Nordic region.

The Application Operations department is responsible for maintaining and supporting systems including different NDR, EDR and SIEM solutions.

As part of the Application Operations team, your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in customer implementation projects, with a focus on NDR sensor technology
• Taking part in the on-call rotation for third-line daytime support and out-of-hours support
• Developing new automation tools and scripts
• Communicating with other departments regarding the planning of new solutions, changes to existing solutions and troubleshooting
• Taking overall system ownership of one or more of the products mentioned above

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates who:

• Are eager to learn and solution-oriented
• Are service-minded and willing to contribute wherever needed
• Are able to work independently
• Have strong communication skills, and are fluent in Norwegian and English
• Holds a bachelor's or master's degree in IT, networking or a related field
• Has a couple of years of professional experience. Personal projects undertaken during studies are also considered relevant. This includes experience with:
  • Suricata and Zeek
  • Practical problem-solving using scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Linux systems and networking
