Job summary

OasisConstruct UAE is seeking a Surveying Assistant to support field teams in Svalbard. You will assist with surveys, operate equipment, and help collect and analyze land and infrastructure data under supervision.

This contract role requires a willingness to learn, good English communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Accommodation is provided for the duration of the contract to support hands‑on field experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic surveying knowledge preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data.
• Strong communication skills in English (knowledge of Norwegian is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys, including setting up and operating survey equipment.
• Collect and record data using GPS, total stations, and drones.
• Perform basic calculations and analysis of collected data.
• Help prepare reports, maps, and other documentation based on survey findings.
• Maintain equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
