Job summary

Head Energy is seeking a Technical Data Specialist for an oil and gas client in Stavanger, Norway. You will identify, curate and manage G&G data in Petrel Studio databases, ensuring quality and proper metadata.

You will optimize folder structures, apply standards, establish data lineage and prepare data for OSDU, collaborating with subsurface teams and external partners. Proficiency in English, Norwegian beneficial, and ability to work in an integrated team are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education in geology or geophysics.
• Hands-on experience with subsurface data management.
• Experience with Petrel and Petrel Studio.
• Experience with horizons, faults, surfaces, wells.
• Knowledge of data quality control and metadata management.
• English proficiency; Norwegian beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify and curate field interpreted G&G data in Petrel Studio databases.
• Review and improve Petrel Studio folders for metadata and access.
• Perform data quality control for completeness, consistency and validity.
• Apply naming conventions and data management standards.
• Establish data lineage, provenance and ownership.
• Prepare data for ingestion into OSDU.
• Support data discovery, loading, validation and delivery.
• Provide operational support and investigate data issues.
• Collaborate with G&G disciplines and external partners.
