Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a Technical Data Specialist to identify, structure and curate G&G data in Petrel Studio databases and ensure high data quality and metadata standards. You will support data preparation for OSDU and collaborate with subsurface teams and external partners.

English proficiency is required; Norwegian language skills are a plus. The role involves on-site work in Stavanger with diverse project opportunities and a supportive career development environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education in geology, geophysics, subsurface data management or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with subsurface data management and G&G interpretation data.
• Experience with Petrel and Petrel Studio for data loading, validation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Identify, collect, structure and curate G&G data in Petrel Studio databases.
• Review and improve folder structures to support metadata capture and reuse.
• Perform data quality control for completeness, validity and conformity to standards.
• Apply naming conventions, metadata requirements and data lifecycle management.
• Establish data lineage, provenance and ownership, with interpretation context.
• Prepare data for ingestion into OSDU and data liberation.
• Support data discovery, loading, validation and delivery across repositories.
• Provide operational support, investigate data issues and improve workflows.
• Collaborate with subsurface and data management teams and external providers.
