Job summary

Yuno seeks a Staff Engineer for Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries to lead architecture across risk, fraud, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks. You will build bank-grade, low-latency systems and champion a zero-tolerance-for-failure culture in a remote environment.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes You Build It, You Run It, cross-functional mentorship, and the use of AI-assisted tooling to shape design and delivery across domains.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience with Go and/or Kotlin and full-stack capabilities.
• Proven track record architecting distributed systems with low latency and high throughput.
• Experience in financial/risk-critical systems emphasizing correctness, auditability, and real-time decisioning.
• Strong AWS and cloud-native services knowledge (RDS, ECS, EKS, S3).
• Excellent automated testing practices within CI/CD environments.
• Leadership in mentoring engineers and driving technical vision.
• Preference for clean, modular architectures balancing reliability and velocity.
• English—advanced proficiency, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Cross-domain architecture and technical leadership across risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks; set direction with APIs and event-driven design.
• Design real-time risk and fraud systems that score transactions and guide decisions at or before authorization.
• Build money movement and reconciliation systems with idempotency and auditable ledgers.
• Design platforms for scam prevention and dispute lifecycle aligned with card-network rules and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure bank-grade, resilient systems with a culture of You Build It, You Run It (YBIYRI).
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Data/ML, Compliance, and other Staff Engineers.
