Job summary

Plasma in London is seeking a staff+ engineer, backend-leaning but full-stack, to own the team's hardest technical problems. Our stack is TypeScript across the board — Node.js on the backend and React + React Native for the frontend.

You will set technical direction, design reliable systems moving real money, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product to raise the bar on reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on staff-level engineer with end-to-end ownership.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript/Node.js and backend services.
• Strong focus on reliability, observability, and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardest technical problems inside your team end to end.
• Set technical direction for core systems and data models.
• Design for reliability and graceful failure recovery.
• Own the TypeScript service and data model; work across client/API layers.
• Define handling of edge cases: partial failures, retries, timeouts.
• Architect and improve frontend integrations where needed.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical clarity.
