Job description

Unitech Power Systems seeks an experienced electrical engineer specialising in protection systems, offering flexible work and career growth in a leading Norwegian firm.

We are seeking an engineer with a master's degree (or equivalent) and expertise in the protection and safeguarding of electrical equipment at high- and medium-voltage levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Protection philosophies and specifications
• Protection of electrical equipment and systems, including coordination of protective devices
• Interlocking and intertripping specifications
• Time current charts and setting tables
• Documentation and system solutions
• Communication between protective devices and control systems
• Assisting with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protective devices
• Participating in fault and incident analyses
• Personnel safety and arc flash—analyses and preventive measures

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for an engineer with experience in as many of the following areas as possible:

• Strong background in relay protection, electrical systems and equipment
• Knowledge of commissioning of electrical installations, including protection systems
• Experience with fault analysis
• Solid IT skills and experience with manufacturer and generic software for configuring and documenting protection settings
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and GOOSE
