Job summary

Soulcake AS is seeking a friendly, hands-on shop team member for our bakery cafe. You will work on the shop floor beside the Shop Manager, serving customers, preparing drinks, handling transactions and keeping the space clean and inviting.

As a front-line ambassador, you will thrive in a busy environment with a customer-first mindset and a willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends. Norwegian and English skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and sell baked goods and drinks to Soulcake standard.
• Prepare and serve drinks consistently and to specification.

• Keep the shop floor, counter, displays and seating clean and presentable.
• Restock displays and follow opening, closing and changeover routines.
• Flag stock or operational issues to the Shop Manager early.

About the Role

You work the shop floor alongside the Shop Manager and the rest of the team - serving customers, preparing drinks, handling transactions and keeping the shop clean and well presented. You take your lead on shift from the Shop Manager, Assistant Manager or Shift Lead. The shift moves fast, especially during peak times, and you put the customer first without letting accuracy, pace or presentation slip.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serving customers and selling baked goods and drinks to Soulcake standard
• Preparing and serving drinks consistently and to specification
• Handling transactions and processing online and in-shop orders accurately
• Sharing clear product and allergen information with customers
• Keeping the floor, counter, displays and seating clean and presentable
• Restocking displays and following opening, closing and changeover routines
• Flagging stock, equipment or operational issues to the Shop Manager early

What We’re Looking For

• Comfortable on your feet in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment for the full shift
• Able to stay warm and customer-first through busy periods and difficult customers
• Accurate with cash, transactions and orders
• A clear, respectful communicator with customers and the team
• Reliable and consistent - you show up on time and follow tasks through without being chased
• Take pride in the customer experience and how the shop looks - not just getting through a shift
• Available to work shop trading hours, including weekends and peak periods, on-call, and across our shop locations (Oslo, Strømmen and Sandvika), taking shifts as they come up
• Aged 18 or over

It’s an advantage if you have:

• Experience in a cafe, retail or hospitality environment
• Barista or drinks-preparation experience
• Familiarity with online order platforms such as Wolt or Foodora
• Norwegian and English, and any other languages are a bonus with our customers

• Employment type: 80-100% Position
• Shifts: Ability to work 8 hours shifts between 8AM - 21:30PM, and ability to work Saturdays
