Job summary

CITY OF BRADY is hiring for Solid Waste Landfill Maintenance (Full-Time). This position directs customers to tipping locations, inspects loads for non-acceptables, and rejects unsuitable items.

The role also maintains landfill facilities and equipment, runs the scale house when required, and supports the refuse truck crew as needed. Physical demands are high: lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds, and working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Solid Waste Landfill Maintenance (Full-Time)

• This employee helps directs customers to the proper tipping locations, inspects loads for items which can’t be accepted and rejects same.
• Performs other tasks associated with solid waste collection, disposal, and maintenance of the landfill, dumpsters and poly cart trash cans also operates landfill equipment and runs scale house when necessary.
• Assists on the back of the refuse truck when needed.
• Lifts and carries up to 100 pounds, pulls, pushes, drags up to 150 pounds while performing other duties; sits, stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, squats, stoops and twists for extended periods while performing job duties; works outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat and cold temperature and inclement weather; performs other tasks as directed.
