Pentagon Technical Services (PTS) is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor (Mechanical & Electrical) to oversee MEP installation on a Norway data centre project. You will ensure work is installed safely, to specification and on programme, acting as the day-to-day link between installation teams, client site management and the commissioning team.

• SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety qualification.
• Working knowledge of permit to work systems, isolation procedures and safe systems of work.
• Understanding of the five-stage commissioning process and the documentation it requires.
• Ability to read and interrogate MEP drawings, schematics and single line diagrams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise day-to-day M&E installation activities, allocating work and coordinating with subcontractors.
• Ensure installations match approved MEP drawings and specifications, raise queries as needed.
• Enforce permit to work, isolation procedures and safe systems on site.
• Review RAMS and method statements; conduct toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Support commissioning process (L1–L5) with complete verification documents.
• Monitor quality, record snagging and defects, close them out before handover.
• Track progress against programme and report progress, risks and delays.
• Coordinate with trades, client representatives and commissioning teams for smooth interfaces.
• Maintain site housekeeping, safety, security and controlled access near live environments.
• Report incidents and support investigations.

About the role

Pentagon Technical Services provides specialist technical and project resources to data centre and mission-critical construction clients across Europe. We are looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor to oversee mechanical and electrical installation works on a data centre project. You will make sure work is installed safely, to specification and on programme. You will be the day-to-day link between the installation teams, the client’s site management and the commissioning team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day mechanical and electrical installation activities, allocating work and keeping subcontractors and labour aligned with programme priorities.
• Check that installations match approved MEP drawings, schematics, single line diagrams and specifications, and raise any queries or discrepancies promptly.
• Operate and enforce permit to work systems, isolation procedures and safe systems of work on site.
• Review and approve RAMS and method statements, and run toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Support the five-stage commissioning process (L1–L5). This means keeping installation records, inspection and test documentation, and handover packs complete and accurate.
• Monitor quality, record snagging and defects, and close them out before handover.
• Track daily and weekly progress against the programme, and report progress, risks and delays to site management.
• Coordinate with other trades, the client’s representatives and commissioning teams so the works interface cleanly.
• Maintain site standards for housekeeping, safety, security and controlled access, particularly where works are in or next to live environments.
• Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately, and support investigations.

Essential requirements

• Demonstrable experience supervising mechanical and electrical installation on data centre or comparable mission-critical projects.
• A recognised supervisory safety qualification: SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of permit to work systems, isolation procedures and safe systems of work.
• Understanding of the five-stage commissioning process and the documentation it requires.
• Ability to read and interrogate MEP drawings, schematics and single line diagrams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable

• Trade background in electrical or mechanical installation.
• Experience working in Nordic or Arctic conditions.
• Experience working within or adjacent to live data centre environments.
• Norwegian language capability.
• First aid at work and appointed person for lifting operations.
