Globally, we partner with operators and key contractors in conventional energy, decommissioning, and offshore wind, delivering certainty when it matters. We are sourcing a Site Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Stavanger, Norway, the Site Manager will provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the Claxton Stavanger business, ensuring operations are conducted safely, profitably, and sustainably. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the annual business plan and budget while managing commercial, operational, financial, and people-related risks in line with Claxton's strategic objectives and QHSE standards. The role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, industry stakeholders, and employee representative bodies. You will foster a positive and collaborative working environment, ensuring compliance with Norwegian employment legislation, collective agreements, and company policies while promoting employee engagement, business performance, and continuous improvement Duties & Main Responsibilities •Develop the annual site budget plan aligned to Regional Plan and Claxton’s Strategy. •Establish an effective organizational structure, oversee key hires, and approve staffing decisions. •Manage P&L performance with the Finance Manager, ensuring financial performance and accuracy in reporting. •Drive working capital efficiency, recommend investments, and optimize profitability through initiatives. •Ensure robust monthly financial forecasting and planning. •Oversee operations, ensuring effective resource management, supply chain efficiency, and project execution. •Work with the sales team to analyse market trends, client, and competitor intelligence, and identify growth opportunities. •Strengthen Claxton’s presence in the assigned geographic area, ensuring client engagement and overseeing sales performance. •Represent Claxton at key industry events, driving brand recognition and business development. •Review & closely monitor commercial proposals to maximise proposal wins. •Demonstrate QHSE leadership to maintain zero harm to people, the environment, and equipment. •Ensure compliance with Claxton’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and all applicable internal and external QHSE, Export/Trade, and HR policies. •Lead a proactive safety culture, conduct audits, and develop risk mitigation strategies. •Own and develop the Strategy Context Risk and Opportunity for site and set actions to address improvement areas. •Implement SMART objectives, drive performance management, and ensure succession planning. •Develop staff and teams within the site through competency schemes, coaching, and implementation of a clear philosophy. •Maximize staff utilization and foster clear communication to align teams with company strategy. •Act as the site’s primary liaison with senior management, ensuring risks and opportunities are addressed. •Conduct regular employee updates and ensure communications meet the needs of the team. •Review and adjust business plans and budgets as needed to meet company goals. •Identify and implement initiatives to boost efficiency, innovation, and long-term profitability. •Lead regular management meetings and operational reviews, contributing to Claxton’s global business direction. •Support managers in meeting compliance and operational goals. •Undertake any necessary tasks to ensure smooth and efficient site operations. •Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with employee representatives and trade unions, promoting positive employee relations and supporting a collaborative working environment. •Lead local discussions and negotiations with recognised unions and employee representatives in consultation with HR and senior management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements •Support managers in managing performance, attendance, conduct, and employee wellbeing matters in accordance with company policies and local legislation. •Promote an open communication culture through regular employee forums, workforce updates, consultation meetings, and engagement activities. •Maintain positive relationships with key customer stakeholders and support business development activities through networking, industry engagement, and representation of Claxton within the Norwegian market. Required •Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience and knowledge. •IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or equivalent. •Internal process auditing qualification (desirable) •Proven experience participating in workforce consultations, collective bargaining processes, and employment-related negotiations. •Strong understanding of Norwegian employment law, industrial relations practices, collective agreements, and employee consultation requirements. •Experience managing organisational change within a unionised environment while maintaining positive employee relations. •Proven track record of developing high-performance teams with the ability to coach and develop employees at all levels. •Strong and timely decision-making skills in fast paced and/or complex environments. •Demonstrated success in leading teams through change. •Ability to solve problems and empower teams to overcome challenges. •Have a proven track record in budgeting and cost control. •Experience in conflict resolution, managing difficult conversations, negotiation, and fostering collaboration across departments and between the sites. •Strong communication skills with experience in influencing stakeholders at all levels and present to large and diverse groups. •High-level knowledge of the products and services offered by Claxton. •Able to show good all-round understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry, the positioning of the company and opportunities within the market. •Understands ethical behaviour and business practices and drives own and others’ behaviour in line with these standards and the values of the organisation. •Company compliance processes, including but not restricted to Customs/Export Control/Anti-Bribery/Sanctioned territories. •High level awareness of employment law, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion best practice. •Knowledge of activities and best practice for the standard functional areas of the business (HSE, Quality, Finance, Projects, Operations, Sales, Commercial and Engineering). •Lead by example in promoting safety-first behaviours, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering an environment where employees feel empowered to identify and address safety concerns. •Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance workplace safety, reduce risks, and promote continuous improvement in health and safety standards. •Experienced in understanding customer needs and motivations and converting these into plans within the business. •Holds a strong client and peer network within the energy industry to support business development activity. •Contractual awareness coupled with sound commercial experience •Leads by example, demonstrates honesty and integrity. •Holds oneself and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely and cost-effective results. •Results orientated, able to focus oneself and others on achieving specific outcomes. •Driven, energetic and committed to achieving goals and continuous improvement. •Able to apply understanding of the company and industry to achieve growth, improve effectiveness and profitability. •Act as an ambassador for the Claxton Group, able to communicate a compelling picture of the organisation’s vision and structure. •Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with trade unions, employee representatives, works councils, and regulatory authorities. | | | Stavanger | | | Norway | | | | | --- | --- | | | | |
