At Aker Solutions we are changemakers with nearly 200 years of experience, committed to helping the energy industry #PowerTheChange towards a net-zero future.

We are driven by collaboration and curiosity, building tomorrow’s technological solutions today!

Artificial intelligence is changing how we design, engineer and operate complex energy infrastructure. At Aker Solutions, we turn the possibilities of AI into real-world impact by integrating advanced technology across systems, disciplines and industrial workflows, where reliability, scale and measurable results matter.

We are now looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to join our team in our Oslo or Stavanger offices.

Join us in developing practical AI solutions that help our people make better decisions, work more efficiently and solve some of the energy industry’s most complex challenges. You will become part of a collaborative environment where domain expertise, data and technology come together to build solutions designed for the real world.

What will you be doing?

Design and deliver AI-powered applications, agents and copilots that solve real business challenges across engineering, operations and corporate functions

Build and orchestrate agent workflows, integrating APIs, enterprise systems, tools and data sources to create scalable and reliable solutions

Identify and apply the right technology approach for each use case, working across both pro-code and low-code AI platforms and adapting as new capabilities emerge

Design prompts, instructions, retrieval strategies and context mechanisms that improve the quality, grounding and relevance of AI-generated outputs

Evaluate and improve AI solutions through testing, guardrails, monitoring and evidence-based validation to ensure safe and effective use in production

Collaborate in cross-functional delivery teams alongside developers, data engineers, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to take solutions from idea to deployment

We think you should have:

A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related field. Relevant professional experience may compensate for a lack of formal education

Experience developing software applications, integrations or digital products, with hands‑on exposure to AI, GenAI, agentic workflows, copilots, RAG (retrieval‑augmented generation) and/or related technologies

Strong understanding of APIs, system integration, application architecture and modern software development practices

Experience designing AI solutions that combine prompts, context, tools, data and business knowledge to solve practical problems

A curious and adaptable mindset with a passion for exploring new technologies, learning quickly and turning emerging AI capabilities into business value

Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage
