Job summary

Aker Solutions is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to join our team in Oslo or Stavanger. You will design and deliver AI-powered applications, agents and copilots to solve real business challenges across engineering and operations.

Collaborate with developers, data engineers and stakeholders to deploy scalable AI solutions, balancing pro-code and low-code approaches while ensuring safe, robust AI across production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Experience developing software with AI, GenAI, agents, copilots, RAG and related tech.
• Strong API and system integration knowledge, modern software practices.
• Ability to design AI solutions using prompts, context, tools and data.
• Curious, fast to learn, and able to translate AI capabilities to business value.
• Fluent English; Norwegian language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-powered applications, agents and copilots across engineering, operations and corporate functions.
• Build and orchestrate agent workflows, integrating APIs, systems and data for scalable solutions.
• Choose appropriate tech approaches for each use case, pro-code and low-code.
• Design prompts, retrieval strategies and context mechanisms for quality AI outputs.
• Evaluate AI solutions with testing, guardrails and evidence-based validation.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to take ideas to deployment.

We are now looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to join our team in our Oslo or Stavanger offices.

What will you be doing?

• Design and deliver AI-powered applications, agents and copilots that solve real business challenges across engineering, operations and corporate functions
• Build and orchestrate agent workflows, integrating APIs, enterprise systems, tools and data sources to create scalable and reliable solutions
• Identify and apply the right technology approach for each use case, working across both pro-code and low-code AI platforms and adapting as new capabilities emerge
• Design prompts, instructions, retrieval strategies and context mechanisms that improve the quality, grounding and relevance of AI-generated outputs
• Evaluate and improve AI solutions through testing, guardrails, monitoring and evidence-based validation to ensure safe and effective use in production
• Collaborate in cross-functional delivery teams alongside developers, data engineers, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to take solutions from idea to deployment

We think you should have:

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related field. Relevant professional experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
• Experience developing software applications, integrations or digital products, with hands-on exposure to AI, GenAI, agentic workflows, copilots, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) and/or related technologies
• Strong understanding of APIs, system integration, application architecture and modern software development practices
• Experience designing AI solutions that combine prompts, context, tools, data and business knowledge to solve practical problems
• A curious and adaptable mindset with a passion for exploring new technologies, learning quickly and turning emerging AI capabilities into business value
• Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage
