Job summary

Capstone IT is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to support a major data-centre project in Skien, Norway. You will be responsible for accurate setting out, measurement and surveying, ensuring works align with drawings and tolerances while supporting the wider site team.

Applicants should have a civil engineering or construction qualification and proven experience with Total Stations, GPS and laser levels, with strong attention to detail and clear communication on fast-paced sites.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer.
• Strong proficiency with Total Stations, GPS and laser-level equipment.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Experience maintaining survey records and as-built documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication, organisation and coordination skills.
• Ability to perform effectively within a fast-paced site environment.
• Knowledge of construction health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
• Ensure work complies with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Support the achievement of key construction milestones and programme targets.

A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Skien. The business delivers complex design and build projects across the UK and Europe, specialising in the data centre, pharmaceutical, logistics, food and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The Role

The Setting Out Engineer will be responsible for the accurate setting out, measurement and surveying of construction works. You will ensure that all works comply with project drawings, specifications and tolerances, while supporting the wider site team in delivering the project safely, accurately and on programme.
