Job summary

Capstone Property Recruitment is seeking a Setting Out Engineer for a major data centre project in Skien, Norway. The role focuses on accurate setting out, measurement and surveying in line with project drawings and tolerances.

You will work with the site team to ensure safety and programme targets are met, maintaining survey data and supporting quality documentation. The ideal candidate has Civil Engineering or Construction background, with experience using Total Stations, GPS and laser levels.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer.
• Strong proficiency with Total Stations, GPS and laser-level equipment.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Experience maintaining survey records and as-built documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication, organisation and coordination skills.
• Ability to perform effectively within a fast-paced site environment.
• Knowledge of construction health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out, levelling and surveying activities.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications and design information.
• Establish and maintain control points and benchmarks.
• Verify dimensions, coordinates and levels of completed works.
• Record and maintain accurate survey data and as-built information.
• Coordinate setting out requirements with engineers, subcontractors and site teams.
• Provide technical support for layout checks and quality control.
• Ensure surveying equipment is maintained, calibrated and reliable.
• Support the preparation of ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
• Ensure work complies with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Support the achievement of key construction milestones and programme targets.
