Job summary

NOV’s Stavanger service team seeks experienced field service engineers for offshore drilling equipment support worldwide. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain leading equipment on rigs and shipyards, traveling as required.

Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, plus offshore readiness, are essential for this role. Candidates should possess a trade certificate or higher, be capable of independent work, and communicate in Norwegian and English while adhering to HSE

Qualifications

• Solid experience and knowledge of mechanical installation and maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting drilling technology equipment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, components, and circuits.
• Trade certificate, technical diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent.
• Experience with commissioning and startup of drilling equipment, preferably.
• Willing and able to travel extensively, domestic and international.
• Offshore medical certificate eligibility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Norwegian and English.
• Clean background suitable for offshore and customer security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, mechanical installation, FATs, commissioning, repair, upgrades, modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance of NOV drilling equipment.
• Support customers on offshore rigs, land rigs, shipyards, and workshop facilities worldwide.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and drilling technology equipment.
• Carry out hydraulic installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Liaise with rig management and communicate with supervisors before and after service assignments.
• Complete service reports, procedures, checklists, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Work closely with engineering and support departments to ensure safe operation, testing, and efficient problem resolution.
• Report field issues and provide technical feedback to relevant departments to support continuous product improvement.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of new and existing NOV products.
• Comply with all NOV and customer HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Our Field Service Engineers represent NOV at customer sites, delivering installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of industry-leading drilling equipment. Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have solid experience and knowledge of mechanical installation and maintenance.
• Have experience troubleshooting drilling technology equipment.
• Possess a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, components, and circuits.
• Hold a trade certificate, technical diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Have experience with commissioning and/or startup of drilling equipment, preferably.
• Are able to work independently, systematically, and efficiently.
• Are willing and able to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, onshore and offshore.
• Are eligible to obtain, or already hold, a valid offshore medical certificate.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• Have a clean background suitable for offshore and customer security requirements.
