Job summary

Marshmallow is seeking a senior technical accounting professional to own the most complex areas across the Group, including UK insurance broking, claims handling, car finance and SPV structures. You will lead policy development, transition efforts, and act as the main accounting expert for auditors and stakeholders.

You will report to the Group Financial Controller, coach junior colleagues, and help close legacy gaps while building scalable controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA with post-qualification experience in technical accounting or senior controllership.
• Deep insurance accounting knowledge (earned premium, technical provisions, reinsurance).
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience; NetSuite is a plus; ability to work with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Group accounting policies for all in-scope entities.
• Lead FRS 102 (2026 amendments) impact assessment and transition, including revenue and ECL.
• Be the internal voice on complex judgement-intensive areas (e.g., leases, intangibles, SPV).
• Own technical accounting for car finance and its SPV structure; UK insurance broking and claims handling.
• Drive resolution of legacy items and audit findings with sustainable fixes.
• Lead revenue recognition policy documentation and cross-functional data alignment.
• Coach junior colleagues and collaborate with FP&A, Actuarial, Legal, and product teams.
