Job summary

The Emerald Group in London is expanding its non-life actuarial consulting team. This permanent role focuses on capital modelling, reserving, IFRS 17, Solvency II, portfolio advisory, and pricing across diverse clients from corporates to Lloyd’s syndicates.

You will own client engagements, manage end-to-end projects, coach junior colleagues, and apply SQL, R, Python alongside Excel and actuarial software to deliver clear, evidence-based insights.

• Experience with ReMetrica or Tyche is helpful.

This is an opportunity to join a growing P&C actuarial consulting team working with clients across the insurance market, including corporates, captives, insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, reinsurance groups and ILS entities, across geographies from EMEA to Bermuda. Their work spans capital modelling, reserving, IFRS 17, Solvency II, portfolio advisory, and pricing.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Working within a team of ~50 actuarial colleagues in London, alongside wider consulting teams, brokers and specialists
• Act as the main client engagement lead including overseeing communications, managing expectations, and ensuring a high quality client experience
• Manage end to end client projects
• Ownership of the actuarial results, approach and narrative, from reviewing assumptions, methods and results to crafting the story, ensuring findings are accurate, explainable, and decision ready
• Contributing to research, insight pieces and client materials
• Provide coaching to more junior colleagues to develop their technical and consulting skills
• strong grounding in actuarial analysis, with the ability to work with data confidently and apply appropriate methods and assumptions
• Comfortable using tools such as SQL, R, Python, alongside Excel and actuarial software, to support high-quality client delivery
• Experience with their actuarial software such as ReMetrica or Tyche would be helpful
• Able to manage work across multiple projects, prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail while working at pace
