Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Research Lead for Grow to own strategic research across the Grow area and guide its direction. You will identify programmes, connect customer evidence to goals, and lead researchers while shaping the roadmap with senior stakeholders.

You will nurture researchers, guide research maturity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-impact, evidence-based decisions that move the business forward.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of research experience including leading researchers across multiple teams or complex product areas.
• Track record of raising research quality and maturity across teams via improved craft, processes, tools and standards.
• Ability to shape research and product strategy across a business area and influence senior stakeholders with compelling evidence and storytelling.
• Ability to connect customer evidence to business outcomes and identify opportunities for research to create new value.
• Ability to lead diverse teams through change, complexity and ambiguity while maintaining clear direction and high standards.
• Ability to develop strong researchers and future leaders through coaching and accountable performance management.
• Ability to navigate competing priorities and resolve complex people and stakeholder challenges while maintaining trust.

Responsibilities

• Own research's strategic contribution across the Grow business area and identify key programmes.
• Define research direction across teams and connect customer evidence to product goals.
• Lead one or two researchers, while planning and delivering strategically important work.
• Plan and deliver research yourself, ensuring high quality and impact.
• Use evidence to influence core product features and senior stakeholder decisions.
• Build compelling narratives to align teams and leaders around a future vision.
• Manage interdependencies and set direction for AI/tool use to improve speed and quality.
