Job summary

Wise is building a new network for the world’s money, and this Senior Engineering Lead II will own the Send Experience end-to-end. You will shape the strategy, set the technical direction, and balance speed with security and long-term scale.

You’ll start by leading two teams through Engineering Leads, with growth to scale the group further. You’ll work closely with Product, Design and Analytics to deliver customer value at global scale, driving architecture decisions and operational excellence

Qualifications

Experience leading customer-facing engineering teams.
Strong technical background in backend and client-side development.
Ability to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and outcomes.
Proven track record hiring and developing senior engineers and engineering leads.
Experience with payments, fintech, or regulated global products is a plus.

Responsibilities

Define the product roadmap in partnership with Product and Design.
Turn strategy into execution with clear outcomes and ownership.
Act as primary technical owner for Send, guiding architecture and debt reduction.
Improve reliability, security and operational health at scale.
Grow and coach two initial cross-functional teams and develop leaders.
