Atlas NextWave is seeking an experienced Senior Project/Facility Engineer in Stavanger to join the decommissioning project team. You will contribute to technical development, regulatory planning, and the Decision Gate process for offshore projects in Norway/UKCS contexts.

The role focuses on decommissioning concepts, impact assessments, and preparation of disposal and abandonment plans, with coordination of SOWs, technical studies, and contractor follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience from offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Experience with subsea and/or offshore decommissioning.
  • Good understanding of decommissioning concepts, disposal alternatives and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Norwegian and UKCS decommissioning regulatory processes is desirable.
  • Experience with technical studies, SOW development, tendering and contractor follow-up.

  • Development and evaluation of decommissioning concepts and disposal solutions.
  • Preparation of Conceptual BAT assessments.
  • Support preparation of Impact Assessment (KU) documentation and follow-up of external consultants.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project/Facility Engineer.
The role will be part of the decommissioning project team and will have a key contribution to the technical development, regulatory planning, and Decision Gate (DG) process for the projects.

Key responsibilities
  • Development and evaluation of decommissioning concepts and disposal solutions
  • Preparation and coordination of Conceptual BAT assessments
  • Support preparation of Impact Assessment (KU) documentation and follow-up of external consultants.
  • Preparation and development of Disposal Plans and Decommissioning/Abandonment Plans
  • Preparation of Scopes of Work (SOW) and technical follow-up of engineering and specialist studies
  • Preparation of technical documentation supporting the Decision Gate (DG) process
  • Preparation of technical documentation for ITT processes and contract annexes
  • Technical evaluation of contractor proposals and study deliverables
  • Coordination with relevant engineering disciplines and project functions
  • Participation in meetings and technical dialogue with Norwegian and UK authorities, as applicable
  • Ensure that relevant regulatory requirements, company requirements, and industry practices are incorporated into the decommissioning solutions
Qualifications and experience
  • We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background and relevant experience from offshore oil and gas projects. Experience from decommissioning and late-life projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant technical education
  • Significant experience from offshore oil and gas projects
  • Experience with subsea and/or offshore decommissioning
  • Good understanding of decommissioning concepts, disposal alternatives and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Experience with both Norwegian and UKCS decommissioning regulatory processes is highly desirable
  • Experience with technical studies, SOW development, tendering and contractor follow-up
  • Experience with preparation and/or review of regulatory documentation and authority interfaces
  • Experience supporting project Decision Gate (DG) processes
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned activities while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary project team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Norwegian is an advantage
Position details
  • Location: Stavanger
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Duration: 12 months with potential for extension
  • Workload: 40% as basis but with potential for increase.
