Job summary

MDE Norway is seeking a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) to act as the technical lead for specific equipment packages in large offshore projects. You will ensure design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and delivery meet project requirements and client expectations, including compressors, pumps, turbines, and vessels.

You will prepare BCMs, kickoff meetings, and coordinate with package buyers and MC engineers.

Qualifications

• Masters or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
• 7 to 12 years of offshore related project experience.
• Extensive knowledge of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, chemical injection skids, and other multidisciplinary packaged systems.
• Strong understanding of static equipment, including design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments and collaborate with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across disciplines and organizational levels.
• Ability to contribute proactively to technical discussions, problem-solving activities, and project execution to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality deliverables.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on cooperation, knowledge sharing, and achieving common project goals.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
• Offshore certificate and medical certificate

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for specific equipment packages in large projects.
• Ensure design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and delivery meet requirements.
• Prepare and perform BCM and kick-off meetings if necessary.
• Create package follow up with package buyer and MC engineer.
• Create and follow up package distribution matrix for supplier documentation.
• Take responsibility for follow-up work for the procurement package.
• Follow up and ensure Final Documentation for the scope of work is delivered on time.
• Ensure work is performed according to instructions / procedures and contract.
