Job summary

GlobalConnect is seeking a Senior Network Engineer – Underlay & Service Development to shape Nordic network services. You will translate customer needs into scalable underlay architectures, service models and templates, and validate setups in labs before deployment.

You will work with OSS/BSS, Operations and suppliers to ensure automation, observability and reliable service lifecycles. The role involves hands-on design, validation, and ongoing improvements across BGP, MPLS, EVPN, Segment Routing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in carrier or large-enterprise networking, including practical underlay work supporting telecom services.
• Deep knowledge of BGP, MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN, EVPN, Segment Routing and OSPF/IS-IS.
• Experience with OSS/BSS, orchestration platforms or service controllers using REST APIs and YANG/NETCONF.
• Experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia or Arista.
• Fluent in English; Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
• Based in Oslo or other Nordic hubs with office access.

Senior Network Engineer – Shape the Network Services Behind the Nordics

Would you like your engineering work to reach far beyond a single platform or customer? As our Senior Network Engineer – Underlay & Service Development, you’ll work at the intersection of network engineering, technology and product. Your focus will be to turn service concepts into repeatable, scalable network offerings across our Nordic infrastructure.

Your day could start with discussing what a new service needs to offer customers. From there, you might translate those needs into an underlay architecture, define service models and configuration templates, or validate a new setup in the lab. Later, you could work with OSS/BSS, Security, Operations or a technology supplier to make sure automation, observability and operational requirements are covered before launch.

You’ll work across technologies including BGP, MPLS, EVPN and Segment Routing, while using automation and APIs to make provisioning more consistent and scalable. You’ll also contribute throughout the service lifecycle — from technical design and validation to launch, documentation and ongoing improvements.

In short, you’ll help turn good network engineering into services that customers can depend on.

• 5+ years of experience in carrier or large-enterprise networking, including practical underlay work supporting telecom services.
• Deep technical knowledge of technologies such as BGP, MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN, EVPN, Segment Routing and OSPF/IS-IS, plus experience with multi-tenant services, wholesale interconnects or peering.
• Practical experience connecting networks with OSS/BSS, orchestration platforms or service controllers using technologies such as REST APIs and YANG/NETCONF.
• Experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia or Arista is relevant.
• Fluent in English, fluency in a Scandinavian language is a plus.
• Based in either Copenhagen, Stockholm, Uppsala, or Oslo, where we have our offices.
