The growth of artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented global demand for compute and GPU infrastructure. Nscale is positioned at the heart of this transformation — building platforms that will enable the next decade of innovation.

Nscale are working closely with the world’s most advanced AI technology providers, integrating next-gen compute hardware and GPU clusters in both partner and Nscale built facilities. This is an opportunity to join Nscale’s journey, play a key role in delivering transformative AI infrastructure, and help shape a company designed to scale rapidly across Europe and beyond.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to lead our critical infrastructure monitoring and incident response teams at our data center in Glomfjord. Taking advantage of the region's green energy and cool climate, our facility requires top-tier operational oversight.

As the NOC Manager, you will be the guardian of our network's uptime, stability, and security. You will oversee a 24/7/365 team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that system anomalies are detected instantly, communicated clearly, and resolved rapidly. This role balances strategic leadership—driving process improvements and automation with hands-on technical guidance during high-pressure incidents.

What You'll Be Doing

  • People Leadership & Team Management: Lead, develop, and manage a 24/7/365 Network Operations Centre team, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, coaching, and career development. Create shift schedules that ensure continuous operational coverage while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the NOC, ensuring the continuous monitoring of network infrastructure, servers, customer environments, Building Management Systems (BMS), and critical data centre infrastructure. Ensure operational procedures are consistently followed and service levels are maintained.
  • Incident & Major Incident Management: Act as the primary operational escalation point for critical (Tier 3+) network, infrastructure, and facility-related incidents. Lead major incident response activities, coordinate cross-functional teams, perform root cause analysis (RCA), facilitate post-incident reviews, and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented to minimise repeat occurrences.
  • Building Management System (BMS) Oversight: Ensure effective monitoring and operational oversight of the Building Management System, including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, environmental monitoring, leak detection, fire detection, and access control systems. Review critical alarms, validate escalation processes, monitor infrastructure health, and ensure facility-related issues are resolved in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Environmental & Infrastructure Reporting: Monitor environmental performance across the data centre, including temperature, humidity, cooling efficiency, power utilisation, and other critical infrastructure metrics. Produce operational reports highlighting trends, risks, recurring alarms, and recommendations for improving facility reliability and operational resilience.
  • SLA, KPI & Performance Management: Monitor, analyse, and report on key operational performance indicators including uptime, incident response times, ticket resolution, alarm response, environmental compliance, customer SLAs, and NOC productivity. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management, identifying trends and opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Process & Operational Governance: Develop, maintain, enforce, and continuously improve the NOC's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational runbooks, monitoring standards, escalation procedures, and incident response workflows. Ensure all operational documentation remains current and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Vendor & Facilities Coordination: Coordinate with on-site Data Centre Operations, Facilities teams, Mechanical and Electrical engineers, Security personnel, and external vendors regarding planned maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and emergency works affecting network or facility operations. Ensure maintenance activities are appropriately planned, monitored, communicated, and documented.
  • Shift Operations & Handover Management: Ensure comprehensive operational handovers between shifts, including active incidents, BMS alarms, maintenance activities, operational risks, customer-impacting events, and outstanding actions. Maintain high standards of communication to ensure seamless continuity of operations.
  • Continuous Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve monitoring capabilities, automate routine operational tasks, reduce false alarms, streamline workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Work closely with Engineering teams to implement improvements to monitoring platforms, reporting, and operational tooling.
  • Risk, Compliance & Business Continuity: Ensure all NOC operations comply with company policies, customer contractual obligations, health and safety requirements, and applicable industry standards. Support business continuity planning, disaster recovery exercises, operational audits, and customer compliance reviews while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
