The growth of artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented global demand for compute and GPU infrastructure. Nscale is positioned at the heart of this transformation — building platforms that will enable the next decade of innovation.

Nscale are working closely with the world’s most advanced AI technology providers, integrating next‑gen compute hardware and GPU clusters in both partner and Nscale built facilities. This is an opportunity to join Nscale’s journey, play a key role in delivering transformative AI infrastructure, and help shape a company designed to scale rapidly across Europe and beyond.

About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Associate to join our team on‑site at our data center in Glomfjord. Taking advantage of the region’s green energy resources, our facility relies on stable, round‑the‑clock monitoring to maintain maximum up time for our clients.

As a NOC Associate, you are the first line of defense. You will be responsible for monitoring our network infrastructure, servers, and environmental systems in real‑time. This is a technical, hands‑on role where you will identify anomalies, troubleshoot initial issues, and elevate complex problems to senior engineers. If you love solving technical puzzles and want to be at the heart of data centre operations, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Real‑Time Monitoring: Continuously monitor network infrastructure, servers, storage systems, customer environments, and critical data centre infrastructure using enterprise monitoring platforms. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), and network monitoring applications to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability.
  • Building Management System (BMS) Monitoring: Monitor the operational status of critical facility systems including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, HVAC units, temperature, humidity, leak detection, fire detection, and access control. Respond to alarms, record observations, perform initial validation, and elevate issues to Facilities or Engineering teams in accordance with established procedures.
  • Incident Response & Triage: Identify, acknowledge, log, and categorise alerts generated by network, server, BMS, and environmental monitoring systems. Perform first‑line troubleshooting using documented procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs), resolving routine issues where possible and elevating more complex incidents appropriately.
  • Ticketing & Documentation: Create, update, and manage incident and service tickets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation of alarms, troubleshooting activities, communications, actions taken, and resolution details. Maintain detailed operational records to support reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Escalation: Work closely with Tier 2/3 Network Engineers, Data Centre Operations, Facilities teams, Security personnel, local site technicians, and external vendors during operational events and critical incidents. Ensure timely escalation of issues and effective communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Shift Handovers: Participate in structured shift handovers, ensuring active incidents, BMS alarms, maintenance activities, operational risks, and outstanding tickets are accurately documented and communicated to the incoming shift to maintain continuous operations.
  • Routine Maintenance Support: Assist with scheduled network maintenance, hardware health checks, system updates, infrastructure inspections, and routine operational tasks during approved maintenance windows. Monitor systems before, during, and after maintenance activities to verify successful completion and identify any unexpected issues.
  • Environmental Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor data centre environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, airflow, and power status. Record significant events and support the preparation of daily operational and shift reports detailing alarms, incidents, maintenance activities, and facility performance.
  • Operational Compliance: Follow established operational procedures, health and safety requirements, security policies, and escalation processes. Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company standards, customer service level agreements (SLAs), and data centre operational best practices.
About You
Experience & Education
  • Practical Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a NOC, IT helpdesk, technical support, or data center environment.
  • Education: Degree or vocational certificate in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant hands‑on experience or certifications will also be highly considered).
Technical Skills
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and firewalls).
  • Monitoring & Systems: Familiarity with monitoring tools (such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or SolarWinds) and ticketing systems (like Jira Service Management or ServiceNow).
  • OS Knowledge: Basic comfort level working with Linux/Unix command lines and Windows Server environments.
  • Certifications (A Plus): CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL Foundation certifications are highly advantageous.
Soft Skills & Core Traits
  • Situational Awareness: A high level of alertness and attention to detail—you notice when a metric looks slightly off.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain methodical and focused when multiple alerts go off simultaneously.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination (Norwegian language skills are an asset for local site communication).
  • Shift Flexibility: Comfortable working a flexible shift schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to support our 24/7/365 operations.
What We Can Offer You

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the operating standards behind a next‑generation AI cloud platform, working on complex infrastructure challenges with real ownership and impact. This is a chance to play a meaningful role in scaling high‑performance, sustainable data centre operations in a fast‑moving environment.
