Job summary

Techconsult is seeking a Senior Mechanical Equipment Package Engineer for an Oslo-based project. You will lead package engineering from basic design to commissioning and coordinate with process, piping, electrical, automation, structural and HSE teams.

Requirements: PRE or similar responsibility for mechanical packages; experience with design reviews, HAZOP, FAT/SAT and commissioning; B.Sc./M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering; Norwegian or Swedish language skills prioritized; fluent English

Qualifications

• Experience as Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) or similar responsibility for mechanical packages.
• Experience with design reviews, HAZOP, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Compliance with project specs, international standards and Norwegian regulations.
• BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Package engineering from basic design to commissioning.
• Prepare equipment specs, datasheets and procurement documentation.
• Evaluate technical bids and follow up vendor deliverables.
• Coordinate with process, piping, electrical, automation, structural and HSE.

Techconsult is the link between jobs and professionals. For one of our customers we are now looking for a Senior Mechanical Equipment Package Engineer

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Equipment Package Engineer with solid experience in mechanical equipment and package engineering for industrial and process facilities. The position is based in the Oslo area, with expected start-up in December 2026/January 2027 and an initial assignment of approximately 12 months.

Job responsibilities:

• Package engineering through basic engineering, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, testing and commissioning


• Preparation of equipment specifications, datasheets, technical requisitions and procurement documentation


• Technical bid evaluations, supplier selection and follow-up of vendor deliverables


• Coordination with disciplines such as process, piping, electrical, automation, structural and HSE

Your experience and qualifications:

• Experience as Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) or with similar responsibility for mechanical equipment packages


• Experience with technical design reviews, HAZOP, FAT/SAT and commissioning


• Experience in ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable international standards and Norwegian regulations


• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent


• Experience from hydrogen, oil & gas or similar process industries will be considered an advantage.


• Norwegian or Swedish language skills will be prioritised. Fluent English is required.
