Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Subsea Systems Engineer to join our team in Norway. The role is based in Norway, with subsea hub offices in Stavanger and Oslo, and a team of about 60 engineers.

You will deliver subsea systems and field development solutions for clients, spanning early studies through detailed engineering, execution and operation. The position emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and delivering high-quality engineering for the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Qualifications

Wood is looking for an experienced Senior or Lead Subsea Systems Engineer to join our team in Norway. We have subsea hub offices in Stavanger and Oslo.

You'll become part of a team of close to 60 engineers in Norway and work closely with colleagues across the region. We support projects within oil and gas and energy transition, from early studies through detailed engineering, execution and operation. The role is based in Norway, and applicants must currently live and work in Norway.

Responsibilities

Your role

In this role, you'll contribute to the delivery of subsea systems and field development solutions for a range of clients and projects. Wood is currently supporting some of the most technically challenging subsea developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including tiebacks, HPHT projects, deepwater developments and complex brownfield integration.

Your responsibilities will typically include:

• Providing subsea systems & facilities expertise to project and operations teams.
• Defining subsea system architecture across battery limits, from wellhead through to export point.
• Developing and maturing subsea field architecture concepts.
• Developing subsea area layouts for infield locations and host facilities.
• Performing systems design activities in close collaboration with the SPS, Subsea Structures, Risers and Flowline disciplines.
• Supporting and mentoring junior systems and SURF engineers.
• Contributing to project risk workshops and design reviews, identifying and following up risks, opportunities and associated actions.

Qualifications

Is this you?

You're an experienced and proactive subsea systems engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving technical challenges and working closely with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. You have a strong interest in subsea facilities and SURF, together with a broad understanding of the industry.

Successful candidates often come from subsea project engineering roles with marine contractors, facilities engineering, or SURF lead positions, and are used to coordinating complex multidisciplinary technical deliveries.

You have a relevant engineering degree, solid experience within subsea systems, facilities and SURF engineering, and a good understanding of Norwegian standards and regulations. Experience in field architecture, systems engineering and SURF delivery will be highly valued. Previous experience on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is strongly preferred.

Experience using modern digital tools to support early-phase engineering is beneficial.
