Job summary

Clear. is seeking a Senior HSE Officer to join a major data centre project in Tromsø, Norway.

You will work closely with the Project HSE Manager, construction management and subcontractors to uphold the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance on site. Responsibilities include delivering the HSE strategy, conducting inspections and audits, reviewing RAMS, leading toolbox talks and inductions, investigating incidents, and maintaining comprehensive HSE records while driving

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years HSE experience in data centre construction.
• Experience on hyperscale data centre projects.
• NEBOSH or IOSH or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and best practice.
• Ability to challenge unsafe practices and influence teams.
• Strong report-writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the project HSE strategy with the Project HSE Manager.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours.
• Monitor RAMS and Safe Systems of Work compliance.

SENIOR HSE OFFICER (DATA CENTRE PROJECT)

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior HSE Officer to join a major data centre construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who has a strong background in data centre construction and is confident operating within a fast-paced, high-risk construction environment.

THE ROLE

As Senior HSE Officer, you will work closely with the Project HSE Manager, construction management and subcontractors to ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance throughout the project.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Project HSE Manager in the delivery of the project HSE strategy.
• Conducting regular site inspections, audits and safety tours.
• Monitoring compliance with project HSE procedures, RAMS and Safe Systems of Work.
• Reviewing and challenging RAMS and risk assessments.
• Monitoring high-risk construction activities and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented.
• Supporting incident, near-miss and accident investigations.
• Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings.
• Monitoring subcontractor HSE performance and driving corrective actions.
• Promoting a proactive safety culture across the project.
• Maintaining accurate HSE records, reports and documentation.
• Working closely with construction teams to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
• Supporting environmental and occupational health requirements where required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 4 years proven HSE experience specifically within data centre construction.
• Strong experience working on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects.
• Relevant HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of construction HSE legislation and best practice.
• Proven experience reviewing RAMS, risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ability to challenge unsafe practices and influence construction teams.
• Good report-writing and documentation skills.
• A proactive approach to HSE and a strong safety leadership mindset.
