Job summary

Nordscale Operations is seeking a detail-oriented HR Operations Specialist to join our on-site team in Norway. You will own end-to-end payroll, manage onboarding to offboarding, and ensure strict adherence to Norwegian labor laws and GDPR.

This role combines data accuracy with employee experience, requiring hands-on payroll expertise and cross-functional collaboration. You will optimize workflows, lead HR projects, and provide trusted guidance to management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR Operations and Payroll experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Deep knowledge of payroll processing, tax rules, year-end reporting, and compliance.
• Strong understanding of Norwegian labor law (Arbeidsmiljøloven).
• Experience with modern HRIS platforms and payroll software; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Payroll ownership: end-to-end payroll processing, benefits, deductions, bonuses, and tax withholding.
• HR operations & administration: onboarding, contracts, offboarding, and exit compliance.
• Process optimization: identify bottlenecks, automate workflows, scale operations.
• Compliance, audits & reporting: ensure alignment with laws, GDPR, and collective agreements if applicable; statutory reporting to authorities.
• Data & statutory reporting: maintain HRIS data integrity; monthly/quarterly/adhoc metrics; NAV, Skatteetaten, SSB submissions.
• Employee support: act as primary contact for payroll, benefits, leave policies, and HR systems.
