About the role

As Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Kiona, you'll blend technical expertise with strategic guidance. You'll play a key role in transforming our software development lifecycle into a vendor‑independent, AI‑powered platform that addresses both current and future security and sovereignty demands. You will design and evolve secure CI/CD and platform architectures across hybrid and cloud‑native environments, embedding security controls directly into development and operational workflows. A key part of this role involves migrating traditional CI/CD pipelines to agentic workflows, all while maintaining compliance with regulatory and security requirements. You'll work across multiple virtualisation and cloud platforms—including GCP, Azure, and open‑source platforms—and apply secure design principles to infrastructure, key management systems, and just‑in‑time access. You'll act as a trusted guide and facilitator for Kiona Development in the transition to AI‑assisted engineering, secure development practices, and modern infrastructure principles. In this role, you'll work closely with Feature Teams, DevOps leads, and stakeholders across product and engineering. You'll play an active part in shaping architecture decisions, ensuring compliance and certification requirements are met, and identifying and mitigating operational and security risks. You'll also play a key role in mentoring and developing less experienced engineers. Solid engineering practices, shift‑left security, and pragmatic problem‑solving are treated as first‑class concerns.

You are

• Has strong experience with DevSecOps principles and best practices
• Has hands‑on experience across several virtualisation and cloud platforms, both hyperscalers and open‑source private cloud
• Has strong experience with secure design principles for infrastructure, key management systems, just‑in‑time access, observability and monitoring
• Understands secure software supply chains, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
• Is a strong problem‑solver with excellent communication skills, and is able to influence technical decisions across teams
• Is comfortable acting as a guide and facilitator—helping teams adopt secure development, modern infrastructure practices, and AI‑assisted workflows
• Is reliable, pragmatic, and able to translate business and compliance needs into sound technical solutions
• Is supportive of others and contributes to continuously improving DevSecOps practices across the organisation, as working in teams is more important
