Job summary

If Skadeforsikring in Oslo is seeking a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist to join a Nordic team focused on developing and productionising machine learning and advanced analytics solutions. You will work in an agile team applying NLP, image analysis, predictive modelling and classification to customer acquisition, sales, customer services and claims.

The role emphasizes coaching juniors, collaborating with data scientists and ML engineers, and working across the Nordics with a hybrid office

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data science and machine learning in a commercial setting.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with version control and software development practices to write reusable modules, models and pipelines.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders from all levels of the organisation.
• Interest in data exploration and data development.
• A degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering or a related field.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience with Azure and Databricks is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Driving and developing all aspects of data science solutions for use cases from understanding the business problem to production deployment and maintenance.
• Engaging with stakeholders to ensure their needs are supported effectively.
• Maintaining understanding of If’s data and analytics landscape and guiding technical AI/ML decisions.
• Collaborating to define approaches and evaluating new methods and technologies.
• Identifying opportunities to apply or extend data solutions to business needs.
• Coaching more junior data scientists and promoting best data science practices.
