Job summary

If Insurance in Oslo is seeking a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist to join a Nordic team focused on developing and productionising machine learning and advanced analytics. You will work in an agile setting applying NLP, image analysis, generative AI and traditional modelling across customer acquisition, sales, services and claims.

You will mentor juniors, engage with stakeholders, and guide the analytics landscape within If.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data science and ML in a commercial setting.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with version control and building reusable modules, models and pipelines for test and production.
• Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Interest in data exploration and development.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience with Azure and Databricks is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Drive and develop end-to-end data science solutions from business problem understanding to production deployment and monitoring.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet needs.
• Maintain understanding of If's data landscape and guide AI/ML technical decisions.
• Collaborate to define approaches, evaluate new methods and technologies.
• Identify opportunities to apply or extend solutions to business needs.
• Coach junior data scientists and promote best practices.
