Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead cost management for its hyperscale data centres in Europe. This full-time on-site role in Narvik requires strong cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and governance across projects.

You will collaborate with Development, Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure cost visibility, discipline, and alignment with approved budgets and governance. English fluency is required, MRICS preferred for the role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in cost management within data centres.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management; MRICS preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering profitable projects and optimizing commercial performance.
• Able to engage across regions and disciplines.
• Fluency in English required; other European languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management for hyperscale data centre projects, aligned with budgets and governance.
• Develop and maintain detailed budgets, CAPEX models, cost plans, and WBS.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, cashflow analyses, ensuring accuracy.
• Benchmark and review with senior stakeholders.
• Analyse cost information and provide management commentary and recommendations.
• Monitor commitments, actual costs, forecasts, contingencies, and budget movements.
• Support procurement with cost estimates, tender analysis, and value-for-money checks.
• Review contractor/consultant payments for accuracy and contract alignment.
• Manage cost change control for variations and budget movements.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain visibility of cost risks and opportunities with analyses.
• Oversee cost close-out, reconciliation, and handover of data for benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Development, Construction, Design, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Operations.
• Stay informed on regional market trends, inflation, pricing, regulatory developments.
